Both kits and boxes for folding 1000 origami cranes, or senbazuru. Japanese tradition says that if you fold 1000 paper cranes, the gods will grant you a wish.
The tradition of folding 1000 cranes was made famous by Sadako, a young Japanese atomic bomb survivor in Hiroshima, who began folding 1000 cranes. Her wish was simply to live. Inspired by Sadako, many people fold 1000 cranes with the hope of regaining their health or the health of a loved one.
